Our Core Values at Idaho Poop Scoop
Dogs Poop, We Scoop. That’s Living Life Together.
You might not think about a dog poop scooping company having core values. But at Idaho Poop Scoop, we believe that EVERY job is worth more than just a paycheck. We work not just for the money or the success of the business; we work for every single client and dog we serve in the Treasure Valley.
Our core values mean everything to us. These are the values that make us happy to do our job each day. We do it not because we couldn’t do something else, but because we don’t want to do something else. At Idaho Poop Scoop, we believe that we’re living life with our community because yes—dogs poop…so we scoop.
Four Core Values
If you think about it, we all have a few things that drive us in our business. For some people, a job is just a way to make a living. But for many of us, a job is more than that. It’s also a way to build a community, to pursue our passions, and to use our talents for the greater good.
At Idaho Poop Scoop, we realize that scooping poop isn’t necessarily something you need a lot of talent for. What you do need is a big heart and a dedication to the people you serve. That’s why we have chosen these four core values and why we pursue them every day with every client and every dog we serve.
1. Integrity
Integrity is more than just “doing the right thing.” Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one’s watching. We don’t expect people to be standing over our shoulders while we scoop poop, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to slack or cut corners.
We are dedicated to always being honest. If we make a mistake and miss a spot, we’ll own up to it. But that’s NEVER something we’ll do on purpose because “no one will notice.” We will always tell you if we run into a snare with the weather, transportation, or anything else that will prevent us from doing the very best we can possibly do.
The leaders of Idaho Poop Scoop are dedicated Christians. We know that even if no one else is watching, God is. We believe that we are serving God Himself when we serve our clients. That’s why we always work by upholding Christian values such as honesty, grace, hard work, service, kindness, and more.
2. Hard Work
Scooping dog poop isn’t an easy job. It may not be the most physically demanding position out there, but it takes hard work because it’s important for us to complete our job no matter the weather, no matter our personal struggles.
Our team is dedicated to putting as much effort into scooping your dog’s poop as we would put into any other job. We scour yards for piles of poop and do our best to pick up every bit of residue we find, even if it’s soggy from rain or snow.
Scooping poop isn’t the most glamorous career, but we feel passionately about doing it well for the sake of our customers. That way, you can come home to a clean yard and a happy dog every day!
3. Serving Others Well
This core value goes back to what is often called “the golden rule.” This rule states that we should “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” For us, this means serving our customers in the same way we would want to be served.
Scooping dog poop is the most unpleasant part of owning a dog. We understand that. As dog lovers ourselves, we also understand how important it is to keep your yard clean and keep your dog away from piles of poop that they could eat or spread around the yard.
Our goal at Idaho Poop Scoop is to pick up the poop so you don’t have to. We’re doing this to ensure that you get the best possible service with ALL your dog’s poop picked up—not because we want something in return, but because that’s exactly how we would want to be treated in the same situation.
4. Streamlined Communication
Our first three core values are all about how we do the job. They guide us in improving our character and becoming better servants for our customers. Streamlined communication, while part of that, also goes back to the nitty-gritty aspects of what it takes to run any kind of business.
We want to ensure we tell you everything you need to know. We’ll let you know who we are, when we’re coming to get your dog’s poop, and what you can expect from each poop-scooping visit. We will always let you know if we run into any snags that prevent our absolute best work.
We keep in constant communication with our customers about each visit. If we notice any issues with your dog or your yard, we’ll be sure to communicate those to you. Our goal is to maintain a close connection with you because your home and your dog are some of your most precious possessions and we want to honor that.
Why Core Values?
It may seem strange for a poop scooping company to have core values. But we believe that EVERY job should be done to the glory of God. That’s why we pursue integrity, hard work, serving others well, and streamlined communication every single day.
We want to ensure that our customers are happy and their dogs are safe and healthy. We want to go home every night happy that we did our best work and made life a little easier for our customers throughout the Treasure Valley. We want to know that God was glorified in our work even when it was crappy and, frankly, stinks :).
We hope that you support us as we pursue these core values. Everyone needs accountability and there’s no one better to help us out than our own customers! Please reach out to us if you need to see more of our core values in our work for you and your dog.
